Had another packed weekend at home. Saturday was packed with shooting with friends in the morning and afternoon. A friend came over in the morning to shoot my scout and see what it was like. Then in the afternoon another friend of mine, that I shoot a lot with, came over to attempt long range shooting with me. I’ll measure our shots when I get time but I’m going to make a wild guess that our longest shot was about 400 yards. And we couldn’t hit the target but we only shot about 4 rounds from my AR, my Scout and his 30-06. At 200 yards we hit the target with ease but 400 was a challenge. We are going to attempt it again when it is a little warmer out. Here’s what we were resting on:
The weather was crazy this past weekend. Right before we went out to shoot there were blizzard conditions. We then drove through some woods to check out what was going on. When we came out there were sunny skies. We got some targets and more rifles. As we were driving to where we were going to shoot it started to snow and felt like hail on the face. We parked in one of our buildings and waited till the snow passed. 5 minutes later there were sunny skies. Welcome to upstate New York where if you don’t like weather, wait 10 minutes. I want to get more into long range precision but I need someone to teach me all the skills. Or maybe I’ll teach myself as I do with a lot of things gun related.
